Pregnancy Discrimination in the workplace
OVERVIEW
In order to avoid charges of, employers need to have a thorough
understanding of the federal and state rules that govern employee pregnancyissues. This course will provide of survey of the laws affecting
employers in regard to pregnant employees including the Pregnancy
Discrimination Act, relevant portions of the Americans with Disabilities Act,
the Family Medical Leave Act and certain local laws. During this session we
will examine what the pregnancy discrimination laws do and do not require from
employers; when family care issues can lead to claims of pregnancy or gender
discrimination; why this area of the law is so complicated; and how to reduce
legal risks.
WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND
Employers and employees, business owners, human resource
personnel, employment law attorneys will learn to identify which laws apply to
pregnant employees; employer obligations in hiring, avoiding claims of
discrimination and responding to discrimination claims if they occur. Attendee
